It’s not just that I’m upset about the treatment of Asian characters like Cassandra Cain or Lian Harper or Gehenna or putting into limbo DC’s most visible black heroine, Vixen, it’s what’s replaced those characters that really gets me going - many of the highest profile DCU super-heroines (bar Wonder Woman or Batwoman) these days are now white blondes (preferably teenage white blondes). Because we all know about the huge white blonde teenage girl contingent who read comic books - right?  Edited to Add: No offense to actual white blondes out there (and yes I know Black Canary dyes her hair), but…all the characters above - barring Mia/Speedy - are currently starring or having a big role in DC ongoing titles RIGHT NOW. And DC’s Asian/Hispanic/Black super-heroines are where again? It just seems weird.
